A, cleanup!
Batting first on the day one Western
A scored 145 for 5 in 50 overs against Central, then defended it bowling them out for 92.
On day 2 we met North Harbour Burgundy who
won the toss and asked us to bat. We obliged with 181 for 4 and then tied them down so they couldn't score more than
118 for 7.
Day 3 dawned incredibly clear and Eastern was
our next opponent. After winning the toss we chose to bat and scored 202 for 6 while they succumbed for just 87.
Day 4 again dawned bright and clear and we
chose to bat again against the only other unbeaten team, Manukau who kept us under 200 even though we got a start of 81 before
the first wicket fell. Manukau bundled us out for 193 but we held our nerve and knocked them over for 181.
However, to win the trophy we needed to
clean up against North Harbour Black on the last day. Again we won the toss and set them a total of 189 after we scored
188 for 7. After some really fine containment in the field they only managed 157 for 7.

This development
side performed very well finishing with the high score of the whole tournament of 266 from 50 overs.
A very close finish
saw their third game against Eastern as first loss of the tournament for them. But they came back and finished with 3 wins
and 2 losses.
